The Read-A-Thon is the PTO’s primary fundraiser and it is a great way for students and families to raise money for Madison and celebrate the magic of reading!

The PTO provides grants for teachers and staff to improve our classrooms and our school. These past two years the PTO pivoted to provide students with take home enrichment activities and increased support to the classroom teachers. In the future, we plan to once again provide buses for field trips, funds for a Science Expo for all students and put on events like movie nights and dances. We fund these initiatives through this fundraiser.

Students ask friends and family to pledge an amount for every day of reading at least 20 minutes or to donate a flat amount to support the student’s reading goals and the PTO. Donations may be made in:

The 2023 Read-A-Thon will be in February/March 2023 – exact dates are to be determined. The goal is to raise money and have fun! 10% of the money raised will go to the Madison library for new books!

  • Students submit Reading Charts each Wednesday
  • Donations are due to teachers one week after the end of the Read-A-Thon
  • Prizes will be drawn and announced one week after donations are collected
